Body Modification

Alter the body, alter the mind.

I have a long held-fascination with body modifications; minor alterations and decorations that can be made to skin and flesh, either by piercing, cutting, or branding.

My own personal experiments with body modifications have infused my life with an ongoing sense of wonder. I believe in body modification as a means to achieve an altered state, to walk in between worlds and gain insight and knowledge.

I was introduced into the concept of body play many years ago when I encountered a remarkable book, Modern Primitives. I cannot overstate the impact that the book had on my life. In the years before the Internet, there was precious little information available outside the Bay Area about body modifications and their ritual usage.

Modern Primitives was my first, informal introduction to the father of the modern primitives movement, Fakir Musafar. It’s been my honor to have met him, and to have studied with him.

Fakir holds the distinction of running a California state certified piercing school, of which I am a graduate. In addition to completing the course for basic body piercing, I also graduated from the branding intensive. I am certified to perform fire direct branding, multi-strike branding, and fine line electro-cautery branding.

I believe that body modification can be a profound method of creating or breaking bonds between people. I am pleased to offer my services as a body modification expert to couples and partners who want to commemorate or celebrate their relationship.
